The Cape Outback Mountain bike Expedition

The race takes place over 4 days departing from Stilbaai and ends at Beloftebos farm just outside Mac Gregor. The race traverses through some of the most beautifull hidden treasures in the Southern Cape and highlights of it are crossing three different rivers by means of rowboat, motorboat and rickety bridge!

The distances over all four days are challenging, 394km with 6440m vertical climbing over the four days, with day 3 the longest at 130km. Day three is also very unique in the sense that it is a dark start at 04:00 am with your bike light in full action.

Of all the multi day Stage Races I have done this one is arguably the most intimate with fantastic people doing the organizing. The relative small size of the event also ensures that by day 2 you know everyone in the camp with brilliant banter both on the course and around the fire at night. The food, tented accommodation and general atmosphere at each new base camp made for an unforgettable experience.
